In the world of werewolves who live among us, Ms. Spears dwells deep inside the head of the wolf pack mentality and portrays a woman/wolf’s eerie life as she hides from certain rape and a life of beastial despair.
Bella fled her adoptive pack years ago and lives a ‘normal’ life in the world of men. She left the male, Devlyn, with whom she had grown to love. When he dared to show his feelings, he’d signed his own death warrant from Volan, the alpha.
They become entangled again when she goes for a ‘run’, is captured, and placed in a zoo. She escapes after turning human (that darn moon!) and we follow her as she flees from the man who wants to control her as well as the man who realizes how much he loves her.
Plenty of action, amid sensual scenes or love and sorrow made this a great read and so different from any other werewolf novel to cross my bookshelf.
‘Heart of the Wolf’ was published in 2008 by Sourcebooks Casablanca.

I have read a few werewolf/man and vampire books, and they’re usually pretty good. I’ll check this out too! The last one I read was on Harlequin on line, and it was an 11th hour shocker that he was a werewolf!

Sounds scary. Werewolves are my biggest nightmare, but I’ll give it a go.

I am just learning about all of the different types of romance novels out there, and this genre is fascinating. I plan to read this only during the daylight hours!

Right up my alley, a fantasy-horror setting should work very well!
