Check out my story on ‘History Undressed’

This week, I am the guest author on ‘History Undressed’, a blogspot highlighting all aspects of life in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the like…in History. My article is titled “Highland Games: Then & Now’ and includes personal photos of games I’ve attended and some at which I have volunteered with family members. Check it out at

‘All a Man Can Do’

‘All a Man Can do’ by Virginia Kantra is one of my all-time favorite novels, from Silhouette Intimate Moments. It came out in 2002 and I keep it on my bookshelf because it is one of the few books that wraps the story around the male perspective in such a way that it held my attention (and my husbands!) from page one. It actually starts in hero Jarek Denko’s point-of-view. Tess DeLucca is also important to the story, but Jarek and the town of Eden are great. A partial from her back cover blurb: Look but don’t touch. Words to live by for Jarek Denko, looking to forget his past. He has a department to run, a daughter to raise, and an investigation to solve. Tess DeLucca-a reporter who is also the sister of a prime suspect-could be his undoing. This book, luckily for me, was followed by ‘All a Man Can be” (2003) and “All a Man Can Ask” (2003). All keepers!

Cheeseburger Pie

2 Medium Onions          1c. Shredded Cheddar Cheese

2# Ground Beef             3c. milk

1tsp. Salt                         1/2 tsp. Pepper

4 Eggs                              1  1/2c. baking mix (i.e. Bisquik)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease two 10″ pie pans. Saute onions until soft in a tablespoon of oil, add ground beef and cook until brown. Drain. Sprinkle mixture with the salt and pepper and spread in the pans. Sprinkle with cheese. Beat eggs, milk, and baking mix in a bowl. When smooth, pour over pies. Bake until golden brown, for approximately thirty minutes.

This recipe can be easily doubled, quadrupled, etc. to feed the whole fire department!

What is my blog about?

The thinking behind ‘Rescuing Romance’ is to give credit where credit is due to the heroes of the romance industry. Whether fictional or real, we all need heroes.

My real life heroes consist of my husband and two sons. We have been through a lot together and I believe Rich and I raised them to the best of our ability. There were tough times but we worked through them…together.

With the boys grown and out on their own, I am dedicating this blog to all the heroes. Watch this space for information, book reviews, author interviews, firehouse recipes, and much more.
